The Milky Way, our home galaxy, sitting overhead on a cool, clear autumn evening. Trying to capture the Milky Way consists of many variables. You will need to find a dark sky area, clear weather, no moon and the right equipment. So now I found myself going to the local Torrance Barrens Dark-Sky Preserve. This area consists of Precambrian Shield, which formed approximately 2.5 billion years ago. It`s a beautiful place to hike in the day and stargaze at night. So I setup taking 30 second exposures with a shutter release cable and tripod. Quiet, dark and away from everything, it can be a little scary at times. But it`s all worth it!
